Tribute as popular former Doncaster school teacher dies at 67

Tributes have been paid to a popular former Doncaster school teacher who has died at the age of 67.

Alan Weston, who will be remembered by generations of pupils at both Northfield Primary School in Thorne and Bessacarr Primary in Ellers Avenue, Bessacarr, where he taught during his career, died last month.

Mr Weston, died on January 26, an obituary notice for him said.

It described him as the ‘beloved son of the late Bernard and Mary and a much loved brother to Deborah and a brother in law to Neil.”

It added: “Alan was a loving uncle and good friend to many and will be sadly missed by all who knew him.”

The funeral service and commital will take place at Rose Hill Crematorium in Cantley on March 6 at 3.40pm.

Family flowers only but, if desired, donations may be made to the Spinal Research Trust.

A collection plate will be available after the service.
