Someone has put a load of gnomes in a really inaccessible place near Sheffield railway station

You see many things out of the window when travelling by train – but rail passengers heading into Sheffield might have spotted a rather bizarre sight these last few days.

And that’s because a load of garden gnomes have been plonked alongside the tracks heading into Sheffield railway station.

Nothing too odd about that you may think. But the gnomes have been positioned on equipment boxes at the bottom of the huge stone walls that greet travellers coming into Sheffield from Doncaster, Rotherhamd and Meadowhall.

The towering walls beneath Park Hill flats are pretty inaccessible – so its a bit of a mystery how the gnomes might have got there.

One passenger managed to get a rather blurred pic as their train whizzed by – showing a couple of the gnomes alongside the track.
