Search is on for a talented Doncaster writer to take part in exciting new programme
and live on Freeview channel 276
Doncaster is partnered with The Booker Prize this year and as part of the town’s involvement a writing competition is being launched to find new literary talent.
Doncaster Creates is hosting a new writing programme which is open to anyone who is a resident of the town or born in Doncaster.

Hide AdJuliet Farrar, from Doncaster Creates, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for a budding Doncaster writer to gain insight and support from a published author and mentoring to help them to develop their writing talent.
“People have until January 11 to send in their work and we are really looking forward to reading some of the wonderful works created by our local Doncaster talent.”

Hide AdJuliet said: “We’re keen to read not only the samples of written work but also learn more about the people behind them and the difference that they feel this programme will make to their writing and development.”
To be considered for the programme writers may submit a piece of work up to 2,000 words and a 500 word statement to go alongside.
Fiona Mozley, said: “I’m very excited to have the opportunity to read and assess the submissions from Doncaster writers.
“In my experience, the hardest step in any creative endeavour is sharing your work with others.
“It is also the most rewarding.

Juliet said: “This is a real opportunity for someone with a love of writing to take that next step and get their work in front of a published author who can help them take their work to the next level.”
The announcement of the winner will be made in February 2021.
