Power cut hits more than 2,500 homes in Doncaster and Pontefract
More than 2,500 homes in Doncaster and Pontefract have been affected by a power cut this morning, Friday, June 19.

Northern Powergrid said 2,576 properties with DN6, DN9, WF8 and WF9 postcodes were hit by the outage shortly before 5am.

It said engineers were working to repair an overhead cable and fully restore power, which it hoped to do by 11am.
According to its live map, power had been restored to the vast majority of homes by 6.30am, with fewer than 10 still affected.
