Hundreds of home and businesses hit by huge South Yorkshire power cut tonight
Hundreds of homes and businesses have been hit by a huge power cut across South Yorkshire tonight.
Villages and suburbs north of Barnsley have all been affected after supplies were cut at around 6pm.
It is not clear at this stage what caused the cut.
A spokesman for Northern Powergrid said: “We are currently working hard to restore power however we are unable to provide an accurate restoration time.”
Residents are urged to call 105 with any questions.
Power could be restored by 7.30pm.
