Senprom 2020 aims to bring together children with disabilities from schools across Doncaster – and will take place this summer at the same time as a number of the town’s other secondary school proms.

The group has set up a Facebook page to share details of the event which will take place at The Glasshouse in Kirk Sandall on June 23.

“There are on-going discussions and communications between heads of said schools and letters to parents.

“This is not to replace any internal activities that the schools may or may not do for pupils but a prom for all pupils leaving school to meet up with pupils from other schools before in a non-formal setting, before moving on to post 16.

“Each child will formally get an invitation.

“We share a vision that our children should have the same opportunity as mainstream peers. As you can imagine this is no small undertaking. We need to raise hundreds of pounds!”
