Frank Bruno, Chesney Hawkes and John 'Boycie' Challis all announce shows in Doncaster

Boxing favourite Frank Bruno, singing star Chesney Hawkes and Only Fools and Horses star John Challis will all be meeting fans at the town’s Hilton Garden Inn at a series of glittering dinner events.

First up on November 20 will be actor John Challis, best known for his role as slippery wheeler dealer Boycie in long running BBC sitcom Only Fools and Horses.

The actor became one of the most popular stars of the series – also starring Sir David Jason, Nicholas Lyndhurst and Buster Merryfield – famed for his trademark laugh and cries of ‘Marlene!’ at his long suffering wife and eventually spun-off into a follow-up series The Green Green Grass.

Next up will be British heavyweight boxing hero Frank Bruno who will be at the hotel on March 19 next year.

Competing between 1982 and 1996, the pinnacle of Bruno's boxing career was winning the WBC heavyweight title from Oliver McCall at a packed Wembley Stadium in 1995 and also had two fights against Mike Tyson in 1989 and 1996 and a domestic clash against Lennox Lewis in 1993.

He has remained in the limelight since, fighting a well documented battle with mental health which has helped endear him even further to the British public.

Completing the line-up on May 21 will be singer-songwriter Chesney Hawkes, best known for starring in the movie Buddy’s Song, which spawned the huge number one hit The One And Only.

Since then, he has appeared in a number of popular UK stage shows and musicals as well as appearing in a number of reality television shows.

All three events will include entertainment, question and answer sessions, a music video show from David Turner as well as auctions of film, sport, TV and music memorabilia, meet and greet opportunities and four course dinners.

There will also be souvenir stalls, prizes and giveaways on the night and much, much more.
