Doncaster World Cup: Tickhill named town's number one after thrilling win over Sprotbrough
Over the last few days, we’ve been asking you to vote for your favourite parts of the town in a fun World Cup style contest.
And after thousands of votes and hours of debate, Tickhill eventually emerged victorious to claim the title of Doncaster’s number one suburb or village.

Hide AdThey were pitted against Sprotbrough in the final – and the lead changed hands a number of times during a contest that went all the way to the wire.
In the end, it was Tickhill who edged it, taking 51.8% of the vote, ahead of Sprotbrough on 48.2%
And while we can’t promise an open top bus tour and victory parade, proud Tickhill residents can print off our winner’s certificate to place in their windows or display it on their Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or other social media accounts to celebrate the win.
Sprotbrough had secured their final spot with a win over Bentley, while Tickhill defeated Thorne to book their place.

Hide AdMore than 2,300 people cast their vote in the final tie, bringing to an end the fun contest which began with 64 of the town’s villages and suburbs.
In the third and fourth place play off game, Bentley (50.8%) narrowly defeated Thorne (49.2%).
