Doncaster World Cup: It's Bessacarr v Tickhill in the final - who will win?
The final of the Doncaster World Cup 2021 has been decided – and Bessacarr will go head to head with Tickhill to find the town’s number one village or suburb.
Over the last few days, we’ve been asking you to cast your votes on which village you think deserves the title as Donny’s number one.
And after starting out with 64 suburbs and villages, we’re now down to the final two.
The semi finals saw hundreds of votes cast to determine the winners.
Last year’s victors Tickhill look to be on course for a second consecutive win after crushing Sprotbrough in the semi-final.
Last year, the pair contested an evenly matched final, but in a repeat fixture this year, Tickhill coasted to victory, ending Sprotbrough’s challenge in ruthless fashion, taking more than 78% of the vote.
In the other semi, Bessacarr saw off the spirited challenge of Kirk Sandall by bagging 66% of the votes.
This year’s final is a repeat of last year’s quarter final, when Tickhill managed to see off the challenge of Bessacarr.
Can Tickhill make it two in a row or will Bessacarr take the spoils?
We have now opened our final Twitter poll – with either Bessacarr or Tickhill now set to be crowned Doncaster's very best.
It will be YOUR votes that will decide Doncaster’s top spot.
