Doncaster woman raising money to honour father who died from heart problems
A Doncaster woman has raised hundreds of pounds to help the heart charity who looked after her Dad during heart failure.
Helen Hammond, aged 34, from Cantley is on a fundraising mission for the British Heart Foundation.
Her father passed away in March due to heart failure - ever since she has dedicated her free time to raising money and awareness for the charity.
Helen said: “My dad passed away just four-and-a-half weeks after his diagnosis.
“It’s been horrendous and was a big shock.
“I decided to turn something negative into a positive and to help other people.”
She set up YorkshireLassEvents on Facebook in July and has been holding coffee mornings, raffles and fundraising events.
Helen held an event on October 19 at the Carlton Village Hall - a fun day of sports, sponsored by Vision In Plastics.
She raised £570 overall for the British Heart Foundation.
