Doncaster woman, 26, to star in new dating show dubbed 'lockdown Love Island'

A female football fan from Doncaster will be hoping to score success when she stars in a new TV dating show being dubbed as ‘lockdown Love Island’ tonight.

Robyn, a 26-year-old sales executive, will be one of 12 contestants taking part in ITV2 show The Cabins where contestants have just 24 hours to find love.

The show sees prospective couples moving into a cosy lodge together and being given the choice to stay a pair or "check out" of their cabin after a day.

The show - which has already been recorded - was able to go ahead after ITV put strict health and safety coronavirus protocols in place.

This included contestants isolating at a hotel while awaiting their Covid test results and any pre-show filming carried out with minimal crew, who all wore face masks and were regularly temperature checked throughout production.

The show has alread been dubbed ‘lockdown Love Island’ and ‘winter Love Island’ following the cancellation of the popular ITV show because of the pandemic.

And singleton and Chelsea fan Robyn, whose celebrity crush is footballer Ruben Loftus-Cheek, says which team a man supports can play a big part in her love life.

'I've dated a few Man U fans before and it just does not work out. You'd think it would be good to have that banter and rivalry. But if they're really die hard fans and they get really passionate about it – and I'm passionate – then we just clash,” she said.

And of her dream date, Loftus-Cheek, she said: “He's gorgeous. And it's a free season ticket to Chelsea, isn't it!'

The Cabins starts at 9pm on ITV2.
