A donation of £20,000 from non-profit grant making trust The Foyle Foundation, was made alongside a £12,000 from Doncaster pub owners.
Adrian and Vicki Welch, owners of the Sun Inn pubs, based in Everton and Retford made their donation after the government announced the reduction of VAT on food and soft drinks.
Vicki said: “When we heard the news that the VAT was going to be reduced for six months we knew we’d donate a percentage of the discounted VAT back to local charities.
