Eunice Smith, 30, died earlier this month – and had only been married to her husband for Damien for two weeks.

Now devastated friends and relatives have launched a crowdfunding campaign for ‘super hero’ and ‘angel’ Eunice, who lived in Conisbrough.

“Tragically a mother lost her precious daughter, a husband lost his amazing wife, four children became motherless, a sister lost her loving sibling, many friends and family have lost a true light in their lives.

“Eunice was full of life. She warmed up any room she walked in.

“She knew the right things to say to cheer you up. She was selfless and put others before herself. She was kind and loving and nothing was ever too difficult for her.

“Even in her last days she was still prioritising everyone before herself. Our Super Hero. Our Angel.”

She was diagnosed with hereditary leiomyomatosis in 2018, a disorder which causes tumours in smooth muscle tissue and the uterus in women.

Added Moreen: “We don't know or can't comprehend how life can ever be the same again.

“But we do know the least Eunice deserves is a befitting send-off for being the amazing, incomparable human being she was. We therefore plea with you to contribute whatever you can, however small it may be, to assist us as a family to send Eunice to her place of rest.

“We are really grateful for your kind words, prayers, visits. Honestly when death arises, all your support is heartwarming, especially at a time where are hearts are broken. We are truly grateful and pray God remembers you as you have remembered us.”

Friend Carrrie Samuel added: “Eunice was the most warm, friendly and welcoming person you could ever meet.

“Myself and her many friends and heartbroken family want to give her the send off she deserves.”

At the time Eunice was diagnosed, she was pregnant with her last born son and was rushed to hospital with a suspected miscarriage.

Fortunately the baby survived but a CT scan later revealed a 15cm tumor on one of her kidneys and at around 26 weeks pregnant, Eunice underwent surgery to remove the tumour and affected kidney, which was successful.

At full term, she gave birth to a healthy baby boy who is now two years old and immediately began chemotherapy treatment.

But in December 2019, it was discovered Eunice’s cancer had spread and progressed to stage four and she died earlier this month.
