Doncaster junior football club forced to postpone huge annual summer fundraising tournament

The Bessacarr FC tournament was due to take place on June 6-7 but organisers have provisionally moved the event back to August 15-16.

A spokesman said: “It’s with great regret that we have to officially inform everyone that our annual tournament has been postponed.

“We have set provisional dates to run the tournament on August 15-16. This date looks very unlikely but with the tournament being our biggest fundraiser of the year we have to give it every chance as we use money raised from this to offset the cost of annual subscriptions.

“Teams that have entered please don’t message us. An email will be sent to all clubs entered over the next couple of days with full details.”
