“This time it was the decision of the children to make something festive and take it to the residents.”

“The children have been through so much this year so we are not doing the usual Christmas parties but opting for options that make them feel safe and secure,” she said.
“We create a relaxing and soothing environment but we still enjoy the time of year.”
So far they have been out in nature to watch the seasons change, played with festive scented play dough and have enjoyed woodland walks.

Hide AdJoanne said that this approach is what led to the children wanting to do something kind for the elderly residents.
She said it was some of the older children that approached her and asked if they could send them cards.
“They have been thinking about them being alone and not being able to have any visitors,” she said.
When they delivered their cards to the residential home staff members dressed up for the occasion.
