Big hearted Doncaster hospital staff nursing injured bird back to health

They are more used to treating people – but big hearted staff at a Doncaster hospital are also nursing a feathered friend back to health.

Staff at Mexborough’s Montagu Hospital have been tending to a bird with a broken wing – caring for the little animal by placing him in a box and keeping him fed and watered.

A spokesman for Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust said: “We’ve had a very special patient with us at Montagu Hospital today.

"The poor guy has a broken wing so has been getting a little bit of TLC while he recovers and has now been taken to a temporary home.

"He’s been setting both our patients and colleagues’ hearts a flutter since he arrived. Get well soon!"

The hospital said all precautions had been taken in regards to infection prevention and control to ensure the highest standards of hygiene were maintained during the care of the little visitor.
