As part of its successful partnership with Neighbourly, a community engagement platform that links businesses to food banks and charities, over 900 of Aldi’s UK stores donate surplus food to good causes all year round.
However, the Armthorpe store is now able to support even more organisations in the local area.

Hide AdMary Dunn, Managing Director of Corporate Responsibility at Aldi UK, said: “Our food donation scheme plays a vital role in ensuring that fresh and healthy food is accessible to those in need all year round, while also allowing us to redistribute surplus stock that would otherwise go to waste.
“We’re committed to doing everything we can to donate more meals in 2021 than ever before and look forward to welcoming even more local groups that can benefit from receiving our regular donations.”
Steve Butterworth, Neighbourly CEO, said: “Finding more good causes and food banks in South Yorkshire is critical to ensure surplus food finds its way easily and quickly to the communities that need it most. I’d encourage any local organisations who could benefit from this to get in touch with us today.”
Local groups in South Yorkshire who are interested should email [email protected] or phone 0117 422 0870 to apply to get involved.
