Road money could be better used elsewhere

I couldn't believe my eyes when I read the article on £8 million being secured to improve the congestion-hit A630 West Moor Link Road in Doncaster. How is widening a bridge going to solve the traffic congestion in this area?

You build more houses and business' along this road, then more traffic will be on and around it.

Forgive me for possible being naive, but haven't the council given permission to build industrial units on the field at the side of Hungerhill school.

Also an new large housing development is going up on the fields at the side of the Armthorpe part of the link road.

If there is traffic congestion now, what do they think by widening a small part of the road is going to help alleviate all this addtional traffic that is coming soon.

I really have given up with Doncaster planning, they have allowed houses and industrial units to be built in already congested areas, which puts more traffic in the area figthing to use what little space there is at present.

That money could be better used elsewhere, such as repairing the tank traps on the highways that are still a part of my daily journey to work. Most are in sad state of repair, so making more road space is only going to cost us the tax payer more in the long run.

Please Doncaster council sort out your planning team, they need their heads banging together.
