So we have the leader of the Doncaster Conservative Party, Councillor Jane Cox, telling us all ”People are no longer ashamed to say they vote Conservative” Page 9, DFP, Thursday May 13, 2021.

I believe the residents of Doncaster will be asking Ms Cox, if that is the case why didn’t the Conservatives in Doncaster do as well as elsewhere in the country?

I believe there are two major contributing factors for the Tory’s lacklustre performance, firstly Doncaster’s new Conservative MP “Nick (still wet behind the ears) Fletcher”, and the mayoral candidate Mr James Hart, who to be honest had more chance of winning an “Eric Morecombe look-a-like contest” than winning the mayoral seat of office in Doncaster.

I also believe the National Conservative Party should scrutinise the Doncaster branch for the tactics they used in this election, like putting three unknown Tory candidates up in Hatfield when none of them lived anywhere near Hatfield, and why they failed to score a win over a Labour party which is at its lowest ebb in over 35 years.

Unfortunately I also feel giving Labour’s Ros Jones a third term in office will condemn Doncaster to a further four years of a “Fly Tippers Charter” Doncaster needed change but once again we failed to receive it.
