Walk's varied landscape is a 'real treat'
There were times on this five-and-a-half mile walk – featuring an ascent to 400 feet – when I go that deja-vu feeling, reassuring, since I’d been here before, but when and why, that’s anyone’s guess, writes Peter Rowsell, of Doncaster Ramblers.
Despite some stretches of road, the walk also encounters forest field and meadow, making this walk a real treat.

At Cliften Hill turn left, then at the Y-junction turn right along Common Lane
3. Walk just more than half a mile south on Common Lane. Then turn right along track making sure to follow the path half right to Conisbrough Park Farm, then immediately left on reaching the farm to climb uphill for quarter of a mile, before turning left for 240m and another steepish climb.
The way may be taped off but it is a right of way
4. The way ahead is unclear, but turn right then right again then left and after 130m turn left to follow a wide track into Clifton.
Continue along Beacon Lane until Back Lane.
