Stretch your legs at country park

This week, Doncaster Ramblers have shared two walks – a flat, five-and-a-quarter-mile walk around Dunsville and a 5.2-mile walk around Langold.

In Dunsville, s tart from the car park near shops by Park Lane Close.

With your back to the High Street, walk straight up the wide footpath for 380 metres, then turn slightly right, then shortly after left then right again, through woodland.

Turn right and join the footpath continuing in the same direction for just more than a mile, c rossing Broadway, then entering Bradwater Drive, taking care not to miss the footpath as it continues along Coppice Lane to the A18 Doncaster Road.

Turn left and follow the A18 Manor Road round a couple of bends for 640m, until reaching Carr Side Lane on the right-hand side.

Follow this south for just under a mile, then dart left into woods and turn right adjacent to Mosscroft Lane which we follow to a cross roads with Sheep Cote Lane.

Turn left and follow this for 200m then turn right to continue Sheep Cote Lane.

Continue on this as it turns left to become Waterton Lane.

After about 100m, turn right onto Rake Bridge Bank which you follow for three-quarters of a mile, before turning right again onto Park Lane, a footpath which takes you back to the A18 Main Street.

Here you turn right again to take you, after 800m, back to the start.

For the second walk, enter Langold Country Park from Church Street and turn left, heading south for 320m to reach the northern edge of Langold Lake.

Follow the footpath for 1,400m, crossing a footbridge two-thirds of the way down to reach the southern edge of lake

Turn right and follow path for half a mile across Miller Land, passing under overhead cables, then turn left and right after 300m at T-junction.

Now head north for just more than a mile, crossing Barker Hades Road, then Lamb Lane B6463 and Park Hill Drive, to reach Kidd Lane, Firbeck.

At the T-junction turn right onto New Road, then at the cross roads turn right again onto Salt Hill.

Continue along Salt Hill to cross Lamb Lane B6463 again and follow path for about 100m.

Turn left.

Walk 270m to reach footpath

Turn right.

It is here where the famous St Leger Stakes horse race was first allegedly devised.

Follow the footpath south east for about half a mile, then turn right into Dyscarr Wood and continue in the same direction for 1,200m to reach the start.
