In 2016, Ongo was named 23rd in the top 100, so moving up to 16th is a great achievement for the organisation. Hundreds of organisations sign up to the National Centre for Diversity from many sectors including housing associations, schools, colleges and construction companies.

The National Centre for Diversity supports companies to embed equality and diversity across the whole workplace. They work with organisations to achieve Investors in Diversity status, including Ongo, who has held this accreditation for the last two years, and in 2016 progressed to receive the Leaders in Diversity accreditation.

Karen Cowan, Head of Customer Service and Support, said: “To be named in the top 100 companies for our commitment to diversity within the workplace is fantastic news.

“We take equality and diversity very seriously here at Ongo, and try to promote being fair and equal to our staff and tenants whenever we get the chance. We do this by holding awareness days and events throughout the year focusing on the nine strands of diversity. Most recently we held a LGBT awareness day.

“We will continue to work hard to improve even further in the way we consider equality and diversity in everything we do.”
