This latest award follows ongo’s outstanding achievement in 2014 when it became one of only 50 companies to be awarded the British Safety Council’s prestigious Sword of Honour.

CHAS, or the Contractors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme, is awarded to organisations which meet acceptable standards of health and safety, as set out by the scheme.

The scheme assesses an applicant’s health and safety policy statement, the overall approach to health and safety, and the specific health and safety arrangements, which must be to a standard acceptable to buyers and others.

Developed in 1997 by a group of health and safety and procurement professionals working in conjunction with the Association of London Government (ALG), CHAS works to improve health and safety standards across Britian, and to reduce duplicated safety applications for both suppliers and buyers.

The accreditation will help ongo, which has just celebrated its 8th birthday, in their bid to offer new services for people in North Lincolnshire.
