Councillor Bill Mordue, Doncaster Council’s cabinet member for culture, said: “This year’s festival features a wide range of events for all ages. The exciting programme highlights the fantastic work our excellent libraries do all year round.”

The festival starts at Doncaster Central Library on June 17 from 2pm to 4pm with a talk from author Stephen Wade. He will speak about his book Uncle Albert, which takes a nostalgic look at life in a small Yorkshire town.

On June 18, the festival moves over to Doncaster Museum and Art Gallery, where informative and interactive stalls will offer activities including making edible books, poetry writing tips, children’s storytelling sessions and craft activities. Visit www.doncaster.gov.uk/literaryfestival
