A Doncaster school requires improvements according to Ofsted, following a visit in November.
And despite the progress at Hayfield Lane Primary in Auckley being described as ‘uneven’, Government inspectors said the leaders, staff and governors know exactly what needs to be done in order to make this a good school.
The 190-pupil school’s new headteacher, Louise Tempest, took up her post in September, and the Ofsted report states: “There has not been time for the new senior leaders to implement all their plans for the school.”
It added: “Teaching is too variable and not enough is good or outstanding. Work is sometimes too hard or too easy for particular groups of pupils.”
However, the school was reported to have a number of strengths including that children’s learning gets off to a quick start in the nursery class. Progress is also accelerated during Years 5 and 6.
