A brand new comedy night is starting at Doncaster’s Cast theatre, with a host of top new comedic talent treading the boards of the town’s newest venue.
Promoter Anthony J Brown, said: “‘The ‘Second Space’ venue at Cast is fabulous and absolutely perfect for a night of top drawer stand-up.
“I’m a firm believer that comedy is best served in an environment conducive to performance, as opposed to taking place on a pub carpet next to a quiz machine that the landlord refuses to switch off.
“The room is fantastic, with a brilliant sound system and ingenious seating which ensures that everyone has a great view, giving the space an intimate feel, which is all a comedian can ask for.”
The line up for the first show on Thursday October 10, is headed by Ivan Brackenbury.
Described by Chris Evans as ‘a comedy genius’, Ivan is a truly bizarre and twisted comic creation, a hospital radio D.J with delusions of grandeur that would make even Noel Edmonds blush. His show won the coveted ‘Spirit Of The Fringe’ Award at the Edinburgh Festival.
He appears alongside comic spirit medium Ian D Montfort, who will be performing material from his recent critically acclaimed Edinburgh Festival show “Unbelievable”, wowing the audience with his mind-blowing clairvoyant skills.
Anthony said: “Ultimately shed-loads of laughter is guaranteed, all in a very comfy and salubrious setting.
“It’s the ideal start for this monthly comedy night.
So I implore any Donnie-based comedy fanciers to shake a leg and get their tickets sorted pronto for a veritable smorgasbord of hilarity.”
Tickets for the comedy night are £10/8 concessions, box office, tel: 01302 303 959, Doors open 7.15pm, show starts 8pm.
