'Not all BMW drivers are maniacs - Doncaster drivers hit back at controversial column'

Your columnist Darren Burke makes the sweeping statement that all BMW drivers are “maniacs”.

Should you have a policy of printing views which are totally without logic? I refer to Brian Newbold’s comment last week, attacking columnist Darren Burke for making a sweeping statement about BMW drivers, but then going to ‘…….. assume that, as a journalist, he must be a left wing, tree hugging, pro-immigration, anti-police, car hating Corbynite Remoaner’. To answer my own question, yes, you surely should.

From this generalisation I can only assume that, as he’s a journalist, he must be a left wing, tree hugging, pro-immigration, anti-police, car hating, Corbynite Remoaner who will write anything to sell papers regardless of the facts. What’s that you say? “We’re not all the same”. I rest my case! He’s also probably one of those incompetent drivers who does 40 in a 60 zone and the same in a 30 (may get to up 50 in the centre lane of the motorway).

Yours faithfully, on behalf of all BMW drivers who are not maniacs.

Just read your column (Darren Burke) and whole-heartedly agree with everything you have said.
Everything you mentioned has also happened to me over the years.
What was once regarded as a great company car is now a Formula 1 racing driver’s test car.
I must add though that Mercedes drivers are not far behind in my experience – it must be a German car thing.
And some Mini drivers think that they own the road too.
