Doncaster audiences will be the first in South Yorkshire to see Northern Ballet’s world-class dancers perform The Shape of Sound by Kenneth Tindall, The Kingdom of Back by Morgann Runacre-Temple and Mamela… by Mlindi Kulashe.

Northern Ballet’s Artistic Director David Nixon OBE said: "We are delighted to present this new Mixed Programme for our audiences at home in Leeds as well as in Doncaster. Kenneth Tindall has a long history with Northern Ballet, first as a dancer and more recently as a choreographer, and it continues to be very exciting to see him grow, particularly after the phenomenal success of last year’s Casanova.

"I am also very proud that one of our current dancers, Mlindi Kulashe, will make his choreographic debut as part of this programme. It is very important that we continue to encourage and nurture such talent from within our Company."

The Mixed Programme will premiere at Doncaster's Cast on September 21 and 22.

After the success of the award-winning Casanova, critically acclaimed choreographer Kenneth Tindall will make his return to Northern Ballet with The Shape of Sound.

The Shape of Sound is the sixth new work Kenneth has created for the Company, including celebrated pieces for previous mixed programmes The Architect and Luminous Junc·ture.

South-African born Mlindi Kulashe will make his choreographic debut with 'Mamela...'.
