North Lincolnshire arts centre officially opens after £590,000 refurbishment

The official opening of 20-21 Visual Arts Centre in Scunthorpe takes place on Monday (November 9) after a £590,000 refurbishment.

The Mayor of North Lincolnshire, Councillor Helen Rowson, and a representative from Arts Council England will officially open the newly refurbished 20-21 at 12.45pm.

Work began in mid-July to transform the popular venue. The £590,000 refurbishment has made improvements to the café, toilets, gift shop and meeting rooms.

This was the first major refurbishment since the centre opened in 2001.

The new facilities include:

Shop@20-21 – selling unique craft and design items, handmade by artists living in the UK. Browse the brand new bespoke shop to discover artist created jewellery, studio ceramics, glassware, print, textiles, stationery, wood and sculpture items, and a fantastic selection of handmade cards. Gift vouchers are also available.

Space@20-21 – space for hire for meetings or events, from as little as £10 per hour. Facilities include free Wi-Fi, digital projection and catering options.

Café@20-21 - newly refurbished family friendly and accessible café offering hot and cold meals, snacks, delicious cakes, freshly ground coffee, speciality teas and cold drinks - all at reasonable prices. Free Wi-Fi is available.

Newly refurbished toilets with an easy access toilet and baby changing facilities.

The refurbishment work was funded by Arts Council England (£500,000) and North Lincolnshire Council.
