Some of South Yorkshire’s most disadvantaged children and teenagers are in for a brighter Christmas, thanks to big-hearted NHS staff.
Staff who work for Rotherham Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust (RDaSH) have donated over 200 gifts to the Barnardo’s Gift Appeal, which were collected this week ready to deliver in time for the big day.
The collection was organised by RDaSH staff members Liz James and Wendy Fullwood, who both work in mental health services.
They collected the presents over four weeks.
Wendy said: “This the third year in a row we’ve donated to the appeal and yet again the kindness of RDaSH staff has been overwhelming.
“Two community teams even chose to forego their Secret Santa this year, donating gifts to Barnardo’s instead.
“It’s lovely to know our gifts will make such a difference to so many young people this Christmas.”
