As part of the programme, graduates and school leavers will help support special projects across the council or join the authority’s catering and hospitality team at Normanby Hall during the summer months.

The aim of the programme is to provide invaluable work experience to help enhance the future employment and career prospects for young people in the area.

The project is the latest in a series of council schemes to support people getting into employment.

Councillor Rob Waltham, deputy leader of North Lincolnshire Council, said: “The new graduate and young persons’ work experience programme continues the council’s commitment to providing opportunities to young people across our area to help them find work.

“It is fantastic that the overwhelming majority of those who take part in our apprenticeship schemes or work experience programmes go on to continue their training or find employment.

“We are also looking at extending our apprenticeship scheme by creating a new opportunity within the catering and hospitality area.

“By also offering a paid work experience placement in this area, we can provide pre-apprenticeship work experience to young people and give them an insight into a future career.

“Those who are due to graduate or leave school this summer should keep their eyes on our website for these fantastic opportunities to become available.”
