New group set up to protect Doncaster parks

Groups across Doncaster have joined forces to help protect the area’s parks and green spaces.

The Friends of Sandall Park group, together with the Friends of Woodfield Park and Doncaster CVS were instrumental in bringing together several community and voluntary groups from around Doncaster for the inaugural meeting of Doncaster GreenSpace Network at St Catherine’s House, Balby.

Some groups are in their infancy and some well established but all have one common aim - they are working towards regenerating or tidying up green spaces in their locality of Doncaster.

The aim of the initial meeting was to gauge interest in a networking forum for such groups to share ideas; good practice; problems and solutions.

The group of voluntary groups supporting other voluntary community groups who work either independently or alongside their Neighbourhood Teams, will operate under the name of Doncaster GreenSpace Network.
