New chairmand and board appointments for hospice

A North Lincolnshire charity-run hospice has elected a new chairman and made a number of new appointments to its board.

Lindsey Lodge Hospice has appointed local solicitor Andrew Horwich as its new Chair and Senior Nurse Advisor with NHS Improvement Dr Karen Dunderdale as Vice Chair, after former Chair Paul Clark and Vice Chair Cannon Michael Broughton decided to step down from their senior positions, but remain on the Board in July.

The Burringham Road Hospice has also held an Extra Ordinary Meeting to welcome new trustees Pete Wisher, Dr Pat Webster, Ian Pepperdine and Alan Bell, along with two new hospice directors Kate Conway (Business Development) and Maureen Georgiou (Nursing and Patient Services and Deputy Chief Executive) to the Board.

Lindsey Lodge Hospice Chief Executive Karen Griffiths said: “I’d like to congratulate Andrew and Karen on their new roles and pay tribute to Paul Clark and Michael for their dedication and support; we’re delighted they will remain on the Board.”

She added: “Lindsey Lodge Hospice is celebrating 25 years of care this year, which is a significant milestone in its history.

“We’re now on the journey of securing the Hospice for its next chapter, where strategic direction and strong leadership will underpin our success.

“With this in mind, we welcome the appointment of all of these new members to the Lindsey Lodge senior team. They bring with them a wealth of experience from a variety of sectors, to inform and guide our decisions going forward.”
