Doncaster residents are set to be bowled over this Valentine’s weekend with the opening of a a new bowling alley.
Adwick Leisure Centre, which has been rebranded as Adwick Leisure Complex, will reopen its doors tomorrow with a new eight lane Kingpin bowling alley, space themed play zone and an American style diner, along with a newly refurbished and expanded gym
DCLT chief executive Michael Hart said: “We are delighted to have invested in Adwick to develop this new leisure complex.
“With bowling, a new soft play area and a great place to eat, we are sure that the local community will make the most of this fantastic venue.”
“It is important that our community based venues offer a variety of activities to meet the needs of the local area. The 10-pin bowling alley and soft play areas will mean that more families will be attracted to use the centre and our current gym members are excited by the plans to improve this area.”
Councillor Bob Johnson, Cabinet Member for Leisure and Culture, who will perform the official opening, said: “These fantastic improvements really add to Adwick Leisure Centre’s offer and make a big difference to the local community. We have also recently invested in Dearne Valley Leisure Centre. This is helping residents to keep fit and healthy as well as adding to Doncaster’s leisure offer.”
Works to improve the swimming pool and changing facilities will begin in the spring.
