The German-owned company currently employs around 28,000 workers in more than 600 stores across the country and expects to have 700 outlets by the end of the year.

Aldi has previously announced plans for a store at Capital Park, Thorne. The supermarket development is part of a wider scheme, which also includes a B and M store, with a garden centre attached, and two drive-through fast food takeaways. Developer Quora said it will create a total of 150 jobs.

Aldi has not yet revealed where the new batch of stores are due to be located, meaning Doncaster could be set for a second new Aldi store in addition to the one planned for Thorne.

Aldi regional managing director Ruth Doyle said: “To support our continued expansion and the ongoing performance of our existing stores, it’s important that we attract the right candidates across all of our roles.

“We’re looking for individuals with a real passion for retail who are seeking a long-term career with a growing and ambitious business.

“Aldi provides all staff with extensive training and development opportunities to ensure they have the necessary skills to make a real success of their career.”
