It was a third successive defeat since the turn of the year for Armthorpe and their fourth loss in the last five league outings.

The game was all over bar the shouting at the interval.

Two goals inside the opening 12 minutes from Adam Shaw were added to by T’Nique Fishley on the half hour mark as Welfare struggled to cope with the pace of the Ammers’ attack.

Shaw completed his hat trick on the stroke of half time after getting clear on goal to beat Liam Copley.

Ashley Flynn made it five with a 70th minute penalty before Alan Jackson headed in a last gasp consolation.

Welfare will be keen to at least end the month on a high note with victory over AFC Emley at Church Street on Saturday.

Meanwhile, boss Mike Carmody has been ringing the changes. Defender Tom Hogg has arrived from Selby Town, midfielder Jack Bonser returns from Goole AFC while left sided player Leon Wood joins from local football. Gary Collier has left to join Selby.
