Jordan Buckham finally broke the deadlock eight minutes before the interval by knocking in the rebound after Liam Radford's shot had been saved.

The second was a case of deja-vu just past the hour mark when Luke Williams scored on the follow-up after Radford's initial effort was saved.

Welfare had goalkeeper Adams Stevens to thank on 75 minutes when he made a fine penalty save from Andy Fox after Josh Bucknall had been sent off for pulling back Parkgate's Mack Collinson in the area.

'I'm pleased with the result because we weren't at our best by any stretch,' said Welfare boss Mike Carmody.

'We still managed to control most of the game and find a way to win, which is a good sign.

'Our pace and the way we break is always going to threaten any team in this league, so once we had settled we started to create good chances.

'I was pleased for Jordan and Luke to get on the scoresheet again, but everyone in the squad played their part.'

Armthorpe are holding a Family Fun Day at the M Pilbeam Construction Stadium on Sunday (noon) in memory of committee member and well known Doncaster Rovers fan Nigel Roe who passed away at the end of last month following a tragic accident at work.

The event will include a match featuring ex-Rovers players.

All funds raised will go towards Nigel's sons Aaron,15, and Ryan, 13, to help them prepare for their futures. Entry is £2 adults and £1 for Under 16s.
