Motorists are being warned to expect delays as maintenance work begins on the A1(M)
Work will take place just north of junction 36 on the Don Viaduct which carries the A1(M) over the River Don and Reservoir Railway Bridge which carries A1(M) the over the Sheffield to Doncaster railway line.
The A1(M) will be closed overnight from August 5 until September 2 between junction 36 and 37 between 8pm and 6am, and signed diversions will be in place.
Only one carriageway will be closed at a time to minimise disruption.
Highways Agency project manager, Tim Calvert, said: “We are carrying out work on both structures using one set of closures in order to reduce disruption to road users.
This work will improve the road surface and journeys for drivers on the A1(M) in South Yorkshire. We encourage all drivers to drive carefully along the diversion routes.
