Motorists caught in five-mile tailback after lorry crash on South Yorkshire motorway

Highways England said the lengthy queue is adding around an hour onto normal travelling times at the moment.

Motorists are being urged to avoid the motorway if they can.

Two lorries were involved in a collision on the southbound stretch between J36 for Conisbrough and J35 for Rotherham and the M18 earlier this morning.

All the emergency services are at the scene dealing with the incident.
