More Doncaster schools report positive Covid-19 cases among students

A number of secondary schools have confirmed cases in recent days while parents of children at other Doncaster schools have contacted us to say they have received texts or calls about coronavirus cases.
McAuley Catholic High School has confirmed two further cases, while it is understood a further case has been reported at Outwood Academy Danum.

Hide AdSir Thomas Wharton, Ridgewood and Hall Cross Academy have also reported positive cases while there have been unconfirmed reports of cases at Thorne's Trinity Academy and De Warrene Academy and Rowena Academy in Conisbrough.
The Free Press has seen details of texts sent out to parents and we have contacted the schools involved to confirm the situation.
A Facebook post from McAuley said: “We were made aware today during Period 1 that a further two pupils within Y10 have tested positive for Covid-19, bringing the total to three.
"None of these three pupils have been in school this week.
“Based on advice from Public Health England we have taken immediate action. All Y10 pupils are required to self-isolate.

Hide Ad“We wish the pupils affected a speedy recovery and ask that others only use our social media for well wishes at this time.
“As in other situations we have acted as swiftly as official channels have allowed us to. Getting information out to those affected and the wider community ASAP.”
It is also understood there has been a positive case at Epworth’s South Axholme Academy school.
