A mobile information service for Macmillan Cancer Support will be in Doncaster next month.

The pod will be located in the Frenchgate Centre from October 13 to 17.

It provides free information about cancer to the public. No appointment is necessary and all are welcome to visit.

A team of Macmillan Cancer Support specialists will be on hand each day to offer confidential information and advice to anyone with a question or concern relating to cancer.

The ‘info pod’ service was launched earlier this year and enables the team to visit new sites, including shopping centres, libraries and hospitals across the region, and reach out to more people who are affected by cancer.

The pod will be open from 9am to 5.30pm, and will be outside Debenhams on the first floor.

Helen Kennedy, lead cancer information and support specialist at the charity, said: “We have a large range of free information leaflets for people to take away about all aspects of a cancer diagnosis.

“Our Macmillan information team can answer any questions about cancer, including information about treatments, side effects, benefits advice and what support is available locally. “We’re here for anyone affected by cancer – those with a cancer diagnosis, friends, relatives and carers.”
