A DONCASTER civil servant and Mia, a 15-month-old Doberman, proved every dog does have its day after walking away with a top prize at Crufts.
Mia was one of over 26,000 dogs that competed in Birmingham and claimed the prestigious Best of Breed award in the working group.
Breeder Alison Swain fought off competition from 157 other dogs to scoop the coveted prize before going on to compete for Best in Group.
Ms Swain has competed in Crufts since 1990.
Fellow Doncaster resident Arlene Clure also scooped the Best of Breed award with seven-year-old Akita, Lace, during the annual contest.
