Man 'stable' in hospital after horrific Doncaster car crash

A man is seriously injured in hospital today after a horrific car crash which in Doncaster which saw the vehicle collide with a tree.

Two other people were also hurt and trearted in hospital for lesser injuries in the collision which happened in Warmsworth yesterday evening.

And police who are investigating the crash say it is possible that a fourth passenger left the scene before officers arrived, and enquiries to identify them are on-going.

Officers issued a statement today which said: “At 6.32pm yesterday evening, it is reported that a Volkswagen Golf Estate travelling along Mill Lane towards Sprotbrough in Doncaster left the road and collided with a tree. This caused extensive damage to the front-end of the car.

“A 22-year-old man suffered multiple injuries including a broken pelvis in the collision, and remains in hospital in a serious but stable condition.

“Two other men aged 28 and 32 who suffered facial injuries are now recovering at home.”

Mill Lane runs between the A 630 Sheffield Road, in Warmsworth, to Sprotbrough, crossing the River Don near Sprotbrough lock.

Police also believe that there may have been a fourth person in the car and are appealing to anyone who may have information about the collision to come forward.

They are also interested in hearing from anyone who has dashcam or CCTV footage of the incident.

Anyone with information is being asked to call 101 quoting incident number 787 of 22 January.
