A DONCASTER man is in hospital with serious leg and head injuries after he was hit by a car yesterday.
Detectives understand the 37-year-old man was attempting to cross the central reservation of the A630 Balby Road, when a green Volvo struck him, near to the junction with St John’s Road.
The Volvo driven by a 34-year-old Doncaster man is believed to have been travelling in the second lane on Balby Road, towards the town centre when the collision happened at about 4.25pm.
The pedestrian broke his left leg and left arm/shoulder and suffered serious cuts to his head and is currently being treated at Doncaster Royal infirmary.
The Volvo driver was not injured.
Anyone who witnessed the incident or anyone with information that could assist officers is asked to call South Yorkshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 701 of April 9.
