Man in hospital and two women arrested after road smash near Doncaster's Keepmoat Stadium

Police were called to Middle Bank in the early hours of this morning following reports of a serious incident.

A South Yorkshire Police spokesman said: “Two people are in police custody after a man suffered serious leg injuries in a collision in Doncaster in the early hours of this morning.

“Just after midnight, police were called to reports that a man had been hit by a car in Middle Bank.

“The 35-year-old was taken to hospital with a fractured leg and minor head injuries.

“Two women, aged 35 and 26, were arrested on suspicion of section 18 wounding and remain in police custody at this time.

“The road was closed for several hours while forensic enquiries were carried out.”

Earlier today, buses were being diverted and motorists told to stay away from the scene.
