Man found unconscious in Doncaster city centre street following assault

A man was found unconscious in a Doncaster city centre after a serious assault just a short distance from the city’s main police station.

Officers were called after the man was found unresponsive in College Road yesterday afternoon.

Eyewitnesses reported a cordon in place at the scene of the incident, near to the former St James’ Baths and near to Doncaster Police Station.

A South Yorkshire Police spokesman said: “We were called by Yorkshire Ambulance Service at 4.18pm yesterday (Monday 17 June) to College Road in Doncaster following reports of an assault.

“It is reported that a man in his 30s had been found unconscious in the street after being assaulted.

“His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening or life-altering.”

“Enquiries are ongoing and we would encourage anyone with information to contact us."
