Man charged over murder of Sheffield man battered and run over in Sheffield street

Detectives have charged a man with murder over the death of a man attacked and run over in a Sheffield street.

Idris Sadiq, aged 30, of Darnall Road, Darnall, Sheffield, will appear at Sheffield Magistrates’ Court.

He was arrested following the death of 41-year-old Zabair Hussain, whose body was found in Staniforth Road, Darnall, on New Year’s Eve.

Two other men arrested over the death remain on police bail.

A 28-year-old man was held on suspicion of murder before being released and a 20-year-old was held on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

A South Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said: “Officers continue to appeal for witnesses to the incident, which is believed to have taken place at around 11.20pm on Thursday, December 31.

“Mr Hussain was found with multiple injuries to his head and body in Staniforth Road, Darnall, and died a short time later.

“If you have information that could help police, please call 101.”
