A man has been arrested in Doncaster town centre after failing to appear at court.
The man was chased by officers through the town centre, before being apprehended with assistance from members of the public.
He had failed to appear before Doncaster Magistrates Court on Friday morning on a charge of common assault.
A police spokesperson said: "After a brief chase, a male was arrested in Doncaster town centre this morning for failure to appear for common assault at Doncaster Magistrates court.
"Thank you to the members of the public on Harrington Street who assisted police when apprehending the male.
"The male is now in custody and will be placed before the next available court."
