Man, 43, attacked in town centre

A MAN suffered a broken nose and cuts to his face following an unprovoked attack.

The 43-year-old was walking with a group of friends along Priory Walk in the High Street, when a man they did not know tried to attack one of them.

When the 43-year-old tried to intervene, he was punched three or four times in the face by the man.

The alleged attacker is described as being around 25-years-old, white, 5ft 10in tall, of medium build with short dark hair.

He was wearing grey trousers with a white shirt and tie.

Police would like to hear from anyone with information about the incident which happened on Saturday, March 4, between 12.30am and 1am.
