A TASTE of Italy will come to Tickhill as shops are transformed into a Mediterranean haven.
Tickhill Business Association has organised the Italian themed day on Saturday, with all shops in the town signing up to offer customers something a little different.
Flagpoles once decked out with the Union flag will be replaced with red, white and green and there will be the opportunity to sample some tasty traditional treats in many of the shops.
One trader taking part is Louise Seaman from City Gate DIY.
She said: “On the day there will be 25 different shops putting flags up throwing their doors open to customers.
“We all knew we wanted to do an event for the whole town and there were a few ideas, but we decided an Italian day was the best one.
“It will be nice to put on an event for the whole of Tickhill to enjoy.”
As well as food and drink tastings there will also be art and music shows, prizes and discounts available to shoppers.
Then from 7pm in the Courtyard outside Roccos Italian Kitchen the mezzo soprano Phillipa Thomas will be giving a free performance of some classical songs.
Tickhill Business Association was set up in February to support and promote independent businesses and shops based in the town.
More than 35 businesses in the town have already signed up to be part of the group.
